Add a teaspoon of Saunf (Fennel Seeds), Jeera and Ajwain to two cups of water and add 7-8 Pudina (Mint)leaves to it. Let it boil until the mixture changes colour. Drink this kadha to calm down the symptoms of acidity and improving digestion.

Coconut Water

Coconut water is not only hydrating but also alkaline in nature. It neutralizes the excess acids, restoring the natural pH of the stomach. You can drink a glass of coconut water every day to avoid acidity.

Bananas

Ripe bananas are natural antacid and relieves burning sensation in the stomach to a considerable extent. Bananas are rich in Potassium and Fiber which helps in eliminating sudden bouts of acidity.

Mint Leaves or Pudina

Chewing fresh Mint (Pudina) leaves or drinking mint tea provides relief from digestive discomfort and reduces the symptoms of acidity. It is known to have carminative and cooling properties. Buttermilk

Take half a glass of buttermilk and add a pinch of turmeric and asafetida to it. To enhance its benefits, add small amount of fenugreek and consume it at night.

Cardamom

To get instant relief from acidity, crush two pods of Elaichi or Cardamom in a cup of water and drink this mixture. Cardamom not only speeds digestion but also eases stomach spasms, stops the production of excess acid and calms the walls of stomach.

Jeera

Cumin seeds or Jeera is cherished in Ayurveda for its digestive-enhancing properties. Roast Jeera lightly in a pan and grind them to make a powder. Take a teaspoon of this powder and mix it in warm water. This stimulates the secretion of digestive enzymes reducing acidity.

 Fennel Seeds

  • Ayurvedic Food for acidity- Consume simple and light food like khichdi, barley, cucumber, bitter gourd, white pumpkin, amla, coconut water, green gram, etc that are easy to digest for the body. Avoid eating heavy, fried and spicy food as they can increase the acidic level in the stomach.
  • Eating Habits- Eating late at night also leads to acidity so avoid eating after 7 pm. Start eating food at proper time and avoid eating out every other day. Instead cook meals at home for a better health. Also, avoid laying down immediately after having a meal.
  • Limit Alcohol Intake- Try to avoid alcohol and smoking as much as possible. 
  • Move your body- Practice yoga, exercises or even walk. This will help you to maintain a healthy body. Take a 5-10 mins walk after every meal.
  • Regular sleep- Maintain a good sleeping routine. Avoid sleeping late at night and changing the sleep timing every other day. Disrupted sleep can lead to a lot of other health problems along with acidity.
